Duncan Newkirk Sr, Broker in Charge
Duncan C. Newkirk is the Owner and Broker in Charge of Combahee Land Company. After graduating from the University Of Georgia in 1964 where he was a football letterman with a degree in Zoology, Duncan served as a Captain in the U.S. Army and is a Vietnam Veteran. Duncan has been a leader in both Wetlands Mitigation and Environmental Consulting for developers and land owners in the Southeast. He served as permit administrator and Deputy Director of the South Carolina Coastal Council from 1974 to 1984. In 1984 he founded Newkirk Environmental Inc. and has worked on most of the major developments on the coast of South Carolina. His innovative leadership and passion for the outdoors created a natural extension into land brokerage. Duncan started Combahee Land Company in 1998, paying homage to the ACE Basin River and tributaries he so often hunts. He and his wife Susan have lived in Charleston for 35 years and have two children and 4 grandchildren. |

Douglas Cutting, Broker
Douglas Cutting grew up in North Carolina, graduated from Davidson College in 1998. He has worked on land and water ever since – as a fishing captain, writer, fishing tackle and boat salesman, and land broker. He received a masters in writing from UNC Wilmington in 2005 and holds a captain’s license, as well as real estate licenses in North and South Carolina. He primarily works with clients and property in select, wildlife-proven counties including Bamberg, Fairfield, Lee, Clarendon, Williamsburg, and Georgetown. Douglas is married and lives with his wife Jeni on Daniel Island. |
